Urvashi Butalia is a feminist publisher and writer based in Delhi. She writes on a wide range of issues to do with gender. Among her best known publications is the award-winning history of Partition, The Other Side of Silence: Voices from the Partition of India, Duke Univ Press, 2000.Navsharan Singh is a feminist researcher and is associated with democratic rights movements in India. She also shares a close association with the people's theatre movement in Punjab. She is with the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) Canada, based in the New Delhi office.
