About Uma Parameswaran

Uma Parameswaran was born in Chennai and emigrated to Canada in 1966. She is the author of an award winning collection of stories titled What was Always Hers, Broken Jaw Press, 1999 and her A Cycle of the Moon, Tsar Publications, 2010 was shortlisted for the Manitoba Book of the Year award. Her most recent works are biographies – Sir C V Raman: A Biography, Penguin, 2011 and Lady Lokasundari Raman: Reflections of her Early Life and Times, Manipal University Press 2014. Two works of fiction are in progress – Maru and the Maple Leaf, and Maru's Memoirs.
