About E Santhosh Kumar

E Santhosh Kumar has published more than twenty-five books in Malayalam, including novels, short story collections, children’s literature, travelogues and essays. He won the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award twice, in 2006 for his short story collection Chavukali, translated by P N Venugopal as A Fistful of Mustard Seeds, Niyogi Books, 2019, and in 2012 for his novel Andhakaranazhi, Mathrubhumi Books, 2011, translated by P N Venugopal as Island of Lost Shadows, Niyogi Books, 2015. He also won Kerala State Children’s Institute award in 2010 and was a special jury mention in the State Film award, 2018. His novel, in English translation, was short listed for Crossword translation award in 2016. Two of his stories have been made into feature films. His works have been translated into English, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Gujarati, German and Bengali.
