Ajay Krishnan likes ice cream, the Beatles, long walks on the beach and people who like ice cream, the Beatles, long walks on the beach and people who like… He has written five plays, including Lines About a Bullet, Butter and Mashed Banana and Excavators. The plays have been performed at venues in Bombay, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and other cities. He has attended the Ledig House writers' residency in New York and the Sangam House residency in Pondicherry. He was also part of the crew of Atul Kumar's The Blue Mug for its Indian and international tour in 2010, handling sound for the production.
