Sangram Majumdar (b. 1976), Kolkata, India, has an MFA from Indiana University and a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design. Recent solo exhibition venues include Galerie Mirchandani+Steinruecke, New Delhi and Mumbai and Nathalie Karg Gallery, NY. Selected group exhibition venues include Klaus von Nichtssagend Gallery, NY, Mamoth, London, Shoshana Wayne Gallery, LA, and James Cohan Gallery, NY. Selected awards include a Neddy Artist Award, Gottlieb Foundation Individual Support Grant, Purchase Award from American Academy of Arts and Letters, NY, a MacDowell Fellowship, a residency at Yaddo, and a Marie Walsh Sharpe Space Program Grant. In 2019 he was inducted into the National Academy of Design. His work has been reviewed in Artforum, The Brooklyn Rail, Hyperallergic, among others. He has also lectured on his work at numerous institutions including Columbia University, RISD, Cranbrook School of Art, and Princeton University. He is an Associate Professor in the School of Art+Art History+Design at University of Washington. He lives and works in Seattle, Washington.
