Chitra Ganesh

Chitra Ganesh’s installation, text-based work, and collaborations suggest and excavate buried narratives typically absent from official canons of history, literature, and art. She is widely recognised for her experimental use of comic and large-scale narrative forms to communicate submerged histories and alternate articulations of femininity to a broader public.

Ganesh received her MFA from Columbia University, New York, in 2002. Her works have been widely exhibited internationally, and are held by prominent collections such as the Museum of Modern Art (NYC), Saatchi Collection (London), and Devi Art Foundation (New Delhi). She is the recipient numerous awards and fellowships including a 2012 John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship in the Creative Arts, and her solo exhibition Eyes of Time is currently on view at the Brooklyn Museum through July 2015. She is represented by Gallery Wendi Norris (San Francisco) and Gallery Espace (New Delhi). Fur further information on her work, please visit chitraganesh.com.
